Night to Nurture Gala

by

The Night to Nurture Super Gala 2012; a night of celebration for what has been achieved and a night of raising funds for what remains to be done.

Originally called the “Super Gala”, this event was re-named in 2010 to the Night to Nurture Gala. This was more than a name change, and reflected the addition of Kids Help Phone as a key recipient of the funds raised. By supporting Kids Help Phone as well as our Toonies for Tummies program the Grocery Foundation is now nurturing the whole child.

Cheesewerks ‘Meet the Maker’ with Shep Ysselstein

by

Shep Ysselstein is the enthusiastic, young cheese maker of the newly establish Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese in Oxford County, Ontario. Once upon a time a business administration major, Shep sparked his love of cheese making in Northern Ontario on a visit to Thunder Oak Cheese with friends.

Upon first glance, you’d think he’s an unlikely sort to be making cheese day-in and day-out.  As soon as he starts to speak about his cheese though, you understand.  There is a passion and commitment in his story that can fill an entire room and you can definitely taste it in his cheese.
